The house seems strangely silent and still this morning. The girls are back to school after half term mayhem and I miss them! All their noise and clammer, their incessant requests and their funny ways of looking at the world and everyone they meet. Although I have to admit it is wonderful to sit down with a hot cuppa and be able to finish it while it is still hot!
Still, it is nearly pancake day and in the tradition of our house we will be stuffing our faces with pancakes all day. Drop scones with bacon and maple syrup or fresh fruit and yoghurt for breakfast, and for supper, well we go with traditional pancakes and can come up with any variation but there must be savoury and sweet. The sweet this year I think is a toss up between lemon and sugar and salted caramel with bananas but the girls love chicken or tuna in the savoury. Happy flippin' !
